The Gallery – Mother Nature

Today’s themes on The Gallery over at Sticky Fingers is Mother Nature.

I have chosen four photographs that in my mind fit this week’s theme and tell part of my story.

The first is a picture of David and I entering the sea at Calpe Beach in Spain.  This was taken just as we began our IVF journey at the end of 2008, it is our first step together on this journey, into a sea of unknown.  For me, the sea is one of Mother Nature’s greatest and most inspirational treasures.

The second picture is of a mother swan and her cygnet, taken in Paris in May of 2010.  When I was pregnant I started taking photographs of mothers and babies in their natural environment.  This is a very proud mother and a beautiful baby.

The third and fourth pictures show me as a mother doing one of nature’s greatest things, feeding my young.  There is something wonderful about breastfeeding out of doors.  It is the most natural thing in the world.  This week I have been breastfeeding my twins for 6 whole months and it is an achievement that I am very proud of and can celebrate through sharing these images of us just as Mother Nature intended – apart from the massive double buggy of course!!!

The Gallery is a weekly project which you can find out more about here and perhaps you would like to join us?  Participating this week has made me want to trawl through all my old photos to see what I can find.

The Gallery was started by Sticky Fingers and you can find out more about it here.
