Bumbo Review

Here in the ESTWILL household we love our Bumbo seats!

Esther and William have a Bumbo each that we use in so many different ways and in so many different places!

A Bumbo makes a great first weaning chair. It is easy to clean and holds baby in an upright position once they have good enough head control. This has been brilliant for our premature babies as they could not sit up on their own at 6 months when it was time to start the weaning process.

A Bumbo makes a fantastic play chair surrounded by hanging toys or with our twins, letting them sit facing each other to practise the art of conversation!

A Bumbo makes an interesting garden seat for babies who like to observe the world around them.

A Bumbo helps a baby to understand how exciting the world can be once they are able to sit upright on their own. It encourages independence. I am certain that Esther sits as beautifully as she does now because she enjoyed her time in her Bumbo so much.

A Bumbo can be a travel feeding chair. It is more portable than a high chair, takes up less storage space and is easily cleaned being made of moulded plastic. A Bumbo is as versatile if not more so than a standard high chair.

A Bumbo enables baby to sit at (on) the table as part of a dinner party or family breakfast. We got many positive comments on holiday when Esther and William joined us in their Bumbos on the hotel breakfast table!

A Bumbo has a tray you can purchase to facilitate easy meal times or play.

This may be just us but we have found that a Bumbo is great for making babies poo! Is that just us? If Esther or William have not ‘been’ for a while I can sit them on the Bumbo and more often than not it will prompt them to go. Bodes well for potty training particularly now I have discovered the Bumbo toilet training seat!

The Bumbo comes in a choice of colours and you can now also buy funky fabric covers!

Bumbo covers make this functional object fashionable too! I only discovered these today or else we would definitely have had some. I think they look fabulous and full of fun. What a great present they would make?!

My only two negative points to make about the Bumbo are that it can only be used for a relatively short space of time before babies try to escape from their plastic perch and when it is used, because of this temptation to escape, babies need to be observed at all times.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our Bumbos and will now carefully pack them away until our next baby comes along!! Or Esther uses them as seats for her dollies!
