047/365 Barefoot Books Rhyme Time

My Little Book Worm x

Barefoot Books sent me a collection of their children’s titles to review including Clare Beaton’s Action Rhymes and Nursery Rhymes.

These small and sturdy board books are perfect for chubby baby fingers and soggy baby gums! They would make lovely presents for a new baby or for a special birthday. They are super for sharing but as Esther and William model below they are also excellent for enjoying alone.

Each book contains a collection of rhymes to be read aloud, sung or even acted out. There are old favourites from childhoods past that are still loved by children today. We particularly like Here is the Church, Round and Round the Garden, The Elephant, Little Bo Peep, There Was a Crooked Man and Hey Diddle Diddle.

What makes these toddler friendly books so special is that they are so beautiful to look at. Each rhyme is illustrated through fabric collage printed on to the page. The collages are bright and colourful and would be a wonderful starting point in school (or indeed at home) for children to make collages of their own showing their favourite story, song or rhyme.

These books are to be enjoyed. Through reading them aloud you can help your children to develop their language, movement and relationship skills. Clare Beaton has published these books to help make learning and sharing fun.

I think she has done a brilliant job! Esther and William do too x
