D is for Dodo: The Dodo Book of the Big Day

The Dodo Book of the Big Day!

This is my very late Alphabe Thursday post, apologies!

Jenny Matlock

Regular readers of this blog will kow that David and I are getting married this year, on 10th September 2011. We are in the throes of planning, preparation and panic! Actually we are not too panicked, not yet!

The key to avoiding panic is being organised and I have just the thing to help me keep my plans and preps in order and pangs of panic at bay! I have The Dodo Big Book of the Big Day.

This planning folder was sent to me by the lovely people at The Dodo Pad Ltd to use and review in the build up to our big day. It is proving to be very useful with less than four months to go. It is where I scribble my thoughts , hopes and dreams. It is where I collate suttings and quotations. It is where I note measurements and momentos. It is my big book of all that is to do with our big day!

This is a ‘combined organiser-list-planner-ideas-memo-filing book’. This is a bride’s best friend. ‘After using your DodoBook of the Big Day… you may find that your sanity isn’t as extinct as all that!’

The Dodo book is a fun and very practical wedding planner. The book is actually a hardback folder. It is good quality, sturdy gold card with russet/purple text and illustrations. It has a rich feel to it.

The book is divided into sections to help structure your planning. The sections are:

Guest List / Invitations
Stationery
Dress/Hair/Make-Up
Bridesmaids/Pageboys
Service/Ceremony
Cars/Transport
Reception
Flowers/Cake
Photography
Wedding List
Honeymoon
Accommodation/Other

Each of the twelve dividers in the Dodo Book of the Big Day has a handy stuff and store management pouch. These very clever clutter managers can be used to organise those essential elements that will help to create the perfect day.

To be honest I do most of my planning and research etc on my laptop so it has been an extra effort using the Dodo Book but I’m glad now that I have started doing this. The folder is already beginning to take shape as a fabulous memento of our day and the excitement that is building in the run up to it.

Don’t get bogged down by a lack of Wedding Rule. Don’t allow the forgotten guest to blight your night. Remember a marriage made in heaven is a wedding made in The Dodo Book of the Big Day.
