Bride Eyes!

Today I had my wedding make up lesson with Jess from Benefit at Debenhams in Ashford, Kent.

I was really impressed with her lesson and throught I would share it with you, mostly to help me remember what to do on the big day but also because I really like the products she has introduced me to and the final look that she has created.

We were aiming for radiant and natural.

Jess began by appling a primer called That Gal all over my face to provide a base on which to apply all the other make up.

She then covered my whole face with a tinted moisturiser called You Rebel. This comes in two main shades but is an intelligent make up as it adjusts its shading to match the colour of your skin. It also offers SPF15 sun protection which is a great bonus, I think.

The next thing Jess did was to dab High Beam on my cheekbones and underneath my eyebrows. This is a highlighter that gives skin a healthy glow, the radiance that we were after.

For blusher Jess used Cha Cha Tint in Mango which sounds awful but looks very natural and rosy which is what I want for my wedding day. This is applied from the apple of my cheeks and up. Less is more with this product and so it is importnat not to apply too much, it is easier to add colour than take it away. Apply by dabbing and patting do nt rub as this will remove the product rather than apply it. This is a great value product as it can also be used as a very natural looking lipstain. This is a fun product for a natural, sun kissed look.

After the cheeks were complete Jess moved onto my eyes and primed them with Stay Don’t Stray Benefit’s 360 concealer and primer for the eyes. This is applied all over the eye as a base for eyeshadow and to cover any dark shadows around the eyes.

RSVP creaseless cream eyeshadow was then applied all over the socket of the eye to give a neutral base colour that will last the wedding day. Powder eyeshadows in shades of brown were then used to add further definition. These came from a special eye kit that comes with instructions for helping you achieve the look that you want. The kit that we used was Big Beautiful Eyes.

The lashes were lined with a grey Bad Gal waterproof eye pencil, as this gives a softer finish than black liners, and my actual lashes were coated with Bad Gal plum mascara. The choice of colour surprised me but I really like it and it much more natuarl than black. It makes the brown of my eyes stand out. I really love it actually. My favourite purchase of the day!

The cosmetics are not cheap and I spent much more than I had planned but I think that it will be worth it to look special on the day and to encourage me to wear a little more make up in my everday life while still looking radiant and fresh. I am quite excited about that.

Benefit are a fun make up company that have great smelling products that really make a difference to the way you look and feel. I know that they will make a bride out of me on my wedding day. I can’t wait!

I paid for all of the products mentioned in this review myself and have chosen to write this review as I enjoyed the lesson very much and would gladly recommend the service and products to others.
