Me and My Blog: New Year’s Resolutions

Today sees the true end of Christmas. Our 12 feast days are over and it is time to start the year anew.

And so it is time to make some new year’s resolution, for me and for my blog. I have decided to share them with you in the hope that I will then be more committed to sticking to them and I can use Edspire as a place to record my progress and achievements as the year moves on.

Here are my resolutions for me and my blog and in 2012.

My Blog

To complete a 366 photo project
I have started this already and am sure that I will be able to complete it as there seems to be a really supportuve community built up around the project this year. The Boy and Me has set up a weekly linky and a Facebook group that will help to keep me going on days where inspirational photogrpahy is hard to find. If I complete this project this year (I had two failed attempts last year!) then I am going to treat myself to a new super duper camera!

To keep my bump watch diary up to date
Bump Watch is going to be the main focus of my blog this year. I will be 23 weeks pregnant tomorrow with Bump Matilda May. She is due on the 5th of May and we cannot wait to meet her. Bump Watch is a diary of how I am feeling as the pregnancy develops as well as baby and maternity product reviews, books reviews for expecting mummies and new mummies, and tips on introducing baby to toddler and the other way around. I am really excited about this series of posts and have some super product reviews coming very soon.

To make time for reading and commenting on others’ blogs
On a Saturday morning I have some time off from Esther and William as they have a special play date with Daddy. I use this time to go shopping and have beauty treatments and this year I am also going to use it to catch up on blog reading and commenting. I am hoping to make stronger connections with bloggers I already know and make friends with some new people too. I want to try and be a more interactive blogger this year.

To learn more about Google Plus and Stumble Upon and other ways of promoting my blog to new and existing readers
What I really want to do is extend my communication skills and social media reach. I want to try and use Twitter more effectively to network with other bloggers and to promote Edspire. I am looking forward to Brit Mums Live! where I hope to learn more about better blogging and to meet some blog friends in the flesh!

To only blog when Esther and William are asleep or being looked after by others
I want to ensure that the time I spend with Esther and William is quality time, so no lap top for me when they are awake and around. I want to be with them, play with them, teach them and make the most of every moment as they just seem to be growing up so fast. This resolution for me is the most important of all and a crossover between a resolution about blogging and one that is just for me.

Me

To make more effective use of my time

To make Esther and William more home cooked meals

To make more of an effort to stay in regular contact with my friends and family

To join Ashford NCT and be an active member of the group

To make more time for David and I to be a couple

These are my personal resolutions and the reasons for them remain personal too but I am sure that I will blog about them as the year goes on. For now though I just want to make public what they are and to have them recorded somewhere that I visit often. I want to be reminded of them to ensure they get done.

2012 is going to be a family year. A new adddition and improvements for all. I am going to become a better blogger, a better Mummy and a better person.

I hope that you will help me along the way.

We are going to start baking too!!!
