WPD12: Our Beloved Easywalker Duo: A Review

When David and I were shopping for a pram back in 2010 we did not really know what we were looking for until we found it.

With twins on the way we knew our life was about to change beyond all imagination but we hoped that we would be able to hang on to some elements of our lifestyle including a love of walking in all weathers and across all terrains.

We wanted to be able to get out and about easily with the twins. As I could not drive and so did not have a car I wanted a buggy that was sturdy and safe and easy to steer!

We looked at a range of twin and tandem buggies but there was only one that stole my heart.

One I knew that would provide the safety and security that we wanted with the simplicity that we needed.

We welcomed into our family in the summer of 2010, Esther, William and our Easywalker Duo!

The Easywalker Duo is a side by side buggy for twins. It can also be supplemented with Easywalker carry cots and Maxi Cosi carseats to make a complete baby travel system.

We have used our Duo everyday now for almost two and a half years.

When Matilda Mae came along we really struggled to find a comparative pram for her and we were determined not to let our Easywalker go.

I want to share with you the reasons why we love this pushchair so much and why I recommend it to all mummies of twins and especially premature ones.

The carry cots are warm and comfortable for new babies. Esther and William napped in them in the house and on the go for many many months.

With four air filled tyres and front wheels that are unfixed (360 swivel but can also be locked) it is incredibly easy to push and steer the Duo. We walked for miles around the lanes where we lived. We also took our Easywalker on holidays where it dealt admirably with sand and snow and tricky terrain.

The raincover is really good and easy to fit.

It is easy to add car seats to create a travel system meaning that we were able to move Esther and William easily without waking them up and disturbing their much needed sleep.

The carry cots clicked on and off the Easywalker frame with ease.

The buggy seats are large and can recline completely flat. Esther and William napped in their seats up to their second birthday. Now they are still happy to ride in their buggy, they can climb into the seats themselves when they are not walking proudly beside their pram!!

The Easywalker Duo is easy to manoevre and I am able to wear Baby Tilda whilst comfortably pushing the twins.

The buggy is easy to fold. It is a two handed job but I can fold it myself. The frame is very heavy and I cannot lift it into my car boot alone. Instead I wheel it easily into the boot of my VW Touran and fold it once it is in.

When we go away as a family we free up much needed boot space by transporting the Duo in a buggy box that my husband made.

The Easywalker Duo is a big buggy. It cannot fit into our house and so lives in the car. Before we had a car the Duo had it’s own little house, the buggy garage, that my husband built to protect the buggy through the seasons.

Though the Easywalker is big I have used it easily on the South Eastern train system and always take it shopping and on days out. It fits into most lifts and through modern shop doors.

The Easywalker is a handsome mode of transport. It turns heads wherever it goes and gains both male and female admirers. Men love to talk about it’s suspension and mummies just love the look.

The two seats are individual, just like my twins. So Esther can sleep while William is awake. We have used this function so many times as William always tends to sleep for longer than Esther when we are out and about.

Once Matilda arrived we could have had one normal seat and one carry cot if we wanted to, though I tended to leave the twins in the buggy and wear the baby. It seemed the easier thing to do.

The Easywalker Duo has been our babies’ carriage for the best part of two and a half years and it has never let us down. I did break off part of the wheel once but Easywalker arranged for it to be placed almost immediately. I was very impressed with their customer service and their care for caring for my family.

The Easywalker Duo is a beast of a buggy but it is beautiful to look at, strong, steady, sturdy and safe. It is a generously sized buggy that your family can grow into. It is not the cheapest twin buggy on the market but I believe from birth to four and all ages and sizes inbetween it is definitely one of the best.

For premature twins it keeps tiny new babies safe from the weather, enclosed and away from prying hands, safe from coughs and splutters and germs, it keeps premature babies warm and dry, it is a cocoon where they can safely grow on the go. It provides preemie parents with confidence and reassurance that they need.

This is a chariot for the best of babes!

I wonder if Kate and Wills will have twins?

I was not asked to write this review or given anything for it, I just wanted to share with you my love for The Easywalker Duo.

  2. Hi, I just wanted to whole heartedly agree on the Easywalker.
I had twins in 2009 & searched for some time to find the best buggy. Like you I did not have a car and also wanted a pushchair I felt proud of, the Easywalker is just the best….I can`t understand why everyone isn’t buying them! Lol. I just wish I had put a pedometer on it to see how many miles we have racked up.
If I can persuade hubby to have another cherub the June is top of my list.
    Take care fellow twinnie mum,
    M x
