Big Jigs Play Patrol Musical Mission

We were absolutely thrilled to be chosen recently to be part of the Big Jigs Play Patrol.

Esther and William love exploring new toys and their welcome pack from Big Jigs has been a huge hit.

The back packs come with us wherever we go and treasures we found inside are used almost every day.

We love music in the Edspire house and always have done.

We all love music including little lady Matilda Mae.

Big Jigs produce a range of wooden musical instruments. We already owned a selection of them and for the purposes of this review we were sent some more.

We were sent some Snazzy Bell Sticks, Girly/Starry Castanets, a Xylophone (to be featured in a separate post!), some Animal Maracas and some stripey double ended shakers.

Lots of lovely ways to make a noise!

We were sent some very Snazzy Bell Sticks. These are great percussion instruments and can be used to explore concepts such as fast and slow, loud and quiet.

Esther and William love using the bells for Twinkle Twinkle where they play them softly and for Jingle Bells where they play them fast and loud!

We love using the Girly / Starry Castanets for all duck related songs. Esther and William love acting out the songs that we sing and Six Little Ducks is particularly sweet with the castanets. These decorative wooden instruments would make great party bag gifts or stocking fillers at Christmas.

Esther and William go to a fabulous music class every Monday where they play lots of different instruments and join in with a wide repertoire of action songs.

The class has taught them all about music and listening as well as how to handle different instruments and how to have some control over how they play.

The Grand Old Duke of York is one of our absolute favourite songs and we also love Wind the Bobbin’ Up. For this song we use the maracas to enhance the experience and make our actions more musical. It is always lots of fun.

The Animal Maracas from Big Jigs are great as percussion instruments and are also nice for games that involve pointing to body parts or using instruments in different ways.

There are three Animal Maracas to collect, mice, bees and ladybirds. They are great for musical toddlers and perfectly safe for babies who want to make some noise. Because of the fun and colourful designs they would also make great presents.

All of the Big Jigs musical wooden toys are beautifully made and decorated. Whether Snazzy or Animal design they are bright and colourful and capture the attention of young children. They are fun to use with all the family and they can be used in a range of ways to explore music and sound. They musical toys of Big Jigs make great gifts for toddlers and young children.

Music is a huge part of our play at home. We love singing and dancing and making a noise.

The Big Jigs Musical Instruments have been a huge hit in our house and I know that Tilda would have loved them too.

We were sent a selection of Big Jigs Musical Wooden Toys to test for the purpose of this review.

Bigjigs toys always look like such good quality, the instruments look much better than our ones which are another big brand, I think next time I will buy Bigjigs instead! x
