Brit Mums Live Linky

My name is Jennie and I am 36 years old.

My blog is called Edspire. I wanted to write something educational and inspirational. That is how the name came about. Edspire was a teaching website when it first began, now it is the home of my blog, my online diary of my life, with and without my children.

You can find me on Twitter @Edspire

I am 5’6 with dark brown hair. With a growing scattering of grey!

This will be my second Brit Mums conference but my first time at the BIBs where I am rooting for Emma from Crazy with Twins to win our INSPIRE category. This is a true example of inspirational and brave. I am a lady whose baby died. The two things are truly very different. And with all that Emma is going through she still took the time to write the most beautiful poem for my Matilda Mae. I cannot wait to see her and thank her for her words and for being an inspiration to me.

Last year at Brit Mums there were two MMs in my life. Multiple Mummy was someone I admired very much and was honoured to meet last year. I am so glad that she met my MM, my Matilda Mae, and I hope from that introduction they have been able to find each other now. In the sky. Brit Mums is going to be very emotional for me this year.

I will be attending both days of the conference. I am travelling to London on Thursday morning to have some much needed time to myself, to be quiet and be with Tilda before meeting up with my beautiful friend Susanne aka Ghostwritermummy and braving the Brit Mums crowds. I will be staying at the Travel Lodge with lots of friends and sharing a room with Monika, Mum on the Brink.

I am attending Brit Mums Live this year thanks to my wonderful friend and sponsor, Keira, from Mama Designs. Matilda Mae was a beautiful Snoodie wearer and often slept in a Babasac. She was supposed to model for Mama Designs around the time that she died. I am so so proud to be sponsored by Mama Designs, a brand I trust and love.

I am really looking forward to meeting all the bloggers and brands who have been so kind to me and supportive of me since Baby Tilda died. I am looking forward to hugs from friends and being able to say a genuine and heartfelt thank you to so many lovely people. I am looking forward to meeting The Lullaby Trust team and working out how best I can support them through my blog. I am really looking forward to some time out just for me, to be Jennie the blogger, Jennie the writer, to have some time to think about what I want from my life as the weeks and months and years go on.

I have two lovely outfits for the Friday and Saturday. On Friday I am wearing a grey maxi skirt and black sequin vest from Next. On Saturday I have a beautiful skirt to review for SeaSalt Clothing and a vest and cardigan that I have bought to go with it. It will be so nice to have a few days not covered in snot and messy play ingedients!!

What do I hope to gain from Brit Mums Live 2013?

Some tips on writing a book and how to get published; ideas for blogging with different baby charities including Bliss and The Lullaby Trust; some more technical knowledge and I would really like to apply to become a Butlins Ambassador as I was too scared last year!

Most of all I am looking forward to listening and learning and remembering last year and the special one to one time I shared with my beautiful Matilda Mae.

  1. Looking forward to meeting you as well – although it sounds like there might be quite a queue! And I agree with Helen, you and Emma are both very inspiring, just in the way that each of you is dealing honestly and bravely with the terrible things that have happened to you. xxx

  2. Beautiful post, Jennie. Your outfit looks gorgeous. I don’t know what I am going to wear yet. Well, as long as it’s clean… 😉
I’d love to say hello to you – you might have to print numbers for all the people wanting to meet you. I’ve got the feeling I am not going to be the only one.
    Dxx

  3. Love what you’re wearing! I’m really looking forward to BritMums Live – sure you are too – looks like it will be a great event.
If you see me wandering around please say hello as I’d love to meet you IRL 🙂
