A Weekend Away At Brit Mums Live (sponsored post)

It is coming!

It is nearly here!

My weekend away at Brit Mums Live!!

I am so excited about this perfect little window of time that is just for me.

Me and my memories of Matilda Mae.

I say weekend but my adventure will actually begin on Thursday. I will pack my Miatui bags with adult only contents(!!) and I will be on my way.

David will drop me at the station after we have dropped Esther and William at school.

I will buy myself a lovely latte to enjoy on the train to London.

I will spend the journey flicking through the pages of a magazine rather than commenting on the fact we are on ‘Spencer’ with yellow doors, pulling lots of passengers and the conductor to London! I will not take any notice of the other passengers and I certainly won’t feel the need to point out whether or not they have glasses or eyes, trousers or legs and what colour they are!!

I am so so so looking forward to the peace.

When I arrive in London I am going to go to Covent Garden to have a look round and hopefully meet a friend for lunch.

I want to get to my hotel, The Cavendish, for 3.00pm to make the absolute most of my time and my room!!

The hotel is opposite Fortnum and Mason so I am going to go over there for a look around in the afternoon.

I am hoping to take with me some home spa products so that I can really make the most of this time to myself to relax.

I am picturing a scented bubble bath, face mask, hair mask, exfoliating and moisturising all over with relaxing products and then having dinner and having a peaceful evening.

And then I am looking forward to a lovely lie in, perhaps breakfast in bed, before heading to Kings Cross to meet Susanne (Ghostwritermummy) and get ready to head to Brit Mums Live.

I am looking forward to Brit Mums Live but know that I am going to find it hard.

Last year I had my beautiful baby girl in my arms.

This year I will only have memories.

How we paced the floors of The Brewery but did not really talk to anyone.

The breastfeeding room.

Our night in a hotel.

So much special quality time.

I miss my baby girl.

This year I am looking forward to talking to the people who truly helped me through the darkest days of my life so far.

To give me a fighting chance of surviving this weekend I have tried to choose clothes that make me feel a more confident version of me.

On Thursday I am going to wear a gorgeous Warehouse dress from John Lewis. The dress is navy and has an embroidered bodice. I love the fit and flare style. I am going to wear it with a little denim jacket and my very special purple shoes from Livie and Luca .

!!

I cannot wait! I had dreamed of accessorising my dress with a fabulous bright pink Mulberry handbag, but they are ever so slightly out of my price range!! Who doesn’t dream of a Mulberry bag?

On Friday I am wearing a day to evening outfit from Next. A sparkly black sequined vest with a lovely grey maxi skirt and some sparkly nude sandals. I will be wearing my Matilda Mae bracelet and my beautiful Matilda Mae necklace (made by Ellie All At Sea). I had lost my necklace but Susanne arranged a replacement for me and so I will be wearing it with pride during my weekend away. I will be wearing Matilda Mae close to my heart and my star on my sleeve! She will be with me wherever I go.

On Saturday I have another beautiful maxi skirt this time from Seasalt Clothing. They kindly sent me the skirt to review and I bought the matching vest top and cardigan. I have had a secret road test of this outfit and I felt pretty in it so cannot wait to wear it for real. I am going to complement it I am sure with my Livie and Luca shoes!!

I am so excited about this very special weekend.

I am looking forward to time alone and time with very special friends. I am looking forward to being alone with my memories of Tilda. I am hoping that she will somehow be with me, in me, to give me the strength to get through the weekend and thank all the people who have and still are helping me.

I am looking forward to wearing all of these lovely clothes and not having any yoghurt, juice or snot on them.

Bliss!

  1. Enjoy it, lavish in the peacefulness and alone time-and wearing clothes without anything child related stuck to it also! Getting quite jealous of all the people going to Britmums now, maybe next year I will pluck up the courage to go 🙂 x

  2. Bliss indeed. Have a wonderful day to yourself and enjoy the solitude. Love the outfits, especially the sparkly black top and skirt! Shame I won’t be there to see it in person on friday but now I know what you’re wearing hopefully I’ll get to say hi on Saturday x

  3. The description of your train journey really made me laugh – I love how Toddlers find absolutely everything fascinating, even that people have eyes. But I too am looking forward to a train journey that does not involve “Mummy, tractor, Mummy? Nuther tractor, Mummy?”

I hope your weekend away can be a good experience, even with the difficult memories, and that you can enjoy some time to yourself. xx

  4. A well deserved weekend just for you on the horizon, yes it’ll be tough at times but you’ll have a lot of people standing by you, ready to hug and hold your hand xx
