In For A Penny as Mama Designs Turns 5!

Never one to miss a party but quite often one to turn up late. Here I am. Here we are! Wishing the wonderful Mama Designs a very happy fifth birthday.

Mama Designs all started five years ago.

Five years ago.

2008.

I was teaching.

I got engaged to David.

David and I decided to start IVF.

Five years on.

We are proud parents to our twins and our angel baby, Matilda Mae.

The reason I am so proud to call Keira of Mama Designs my friend.

The reason I am such a huge fan of every product Mama Designs sells.

Matilda Mae had them all, or I had them to use with her.

The Mama Scarf

The Babasac

and the Snoodie!

Matilda wore a Snoodie as part of her forever clothes, thanks to Mama Designs.

So on Friday, we had a little party, to celebrate Mama Designs turning 5 and to remember our Matilda Mae with firework kisses in the sky.

We had a wonderful time and were able to donate the money that we might have spent on going out to The Lullaby Trust as part of their In For A Penny In For A Pound initiative.

Esther, William and I started the preparations on Friday afternoon. We hung bunting and stars in the playroom. We made up party bags and got everything we needed ready.

Mama Designs sent the beautiful bunting and a lovely Snoodie that Esther was very keen to wear. The Snoodie is designed as a dribble bib for toddlers but actually makes a stunning fashion accessory and a very practical scarf to wear through the winter months. Think Esther will carry on wearing this one.

We had great fun at our party with close family and friends.

We had lovely bangers in buns to eat and the adults drank mulled wine.

We all huddled around the playroom door watching the fireworks that Daddy went out into the pouring rain to light. Sending our sparkly kisses in bursts of colour and light to the sky.

We enjoyed it so much actually that I think it will become a regular thing. We will hold an annual fireworks party at our house and invite our friends and family. We will then ask people to donate some of what they would have spent on going to a display to The Lullaby Trust as part of the fundraiser In For A Penny In For A Pound.

Esther and William had a wonderful time with family and friends. They loved the novelty of staying up late. We had party whistles and sweets and some lovely starry cakes, white chocolate stars for Baby Tilda Mae.

After our cakes we wrapped up in our waterproof winter woollies and crossed the road to the village school for their fireworks too. We had to go because last year we went with a sleepy Matilda Mae. This year we went without her, in her honour and her memory.

Spot Baby Tilda!

And I am so so glad that we did because look at the awe and wonder and love on these faces and the magical sparkle in their eyes.

Thank you to Mama Designs for making us have a party, thank you to The Lullaby Trust for encouraging us to have a party for Matilda Mae and thank you Baby Tilda for inspiring us to be all that we are and to do all that we do.

Because Matilda Mae will never be five.

We hope that with nights like this though her memory will live on.

Thank you Mama Designs and happy birthday to you x x x x

We were sent a small parcel of party goodies from Mama Designs to make this party possible.
