Coombe Mill: The Land of Trains and Boats and Swingabouts

Today we woke to the sun streaming through our windows

Esther and William were awake early and keen to get out on the farm

We did not do the feed run this morning

But instead went to the play area

To drive the pretend tractor

And slide on the curly wurly slide

There is something wonderful about a sunny morning

Especially here at the farm

Seeing the sunlight dance on the river

Like naughty stars

Still up and awake and enjoying the day

We enjoyed our day today

A magical family day

In the land of trains and boats and swingabouts

The Valley

The Valley

A place that we visited last year

That did not disappoint this

Today we went to Lappa Valley

Have you heard of Lappa Valley?

Have you been?

If not you really should

Especially if you have young children

If you have train mad toddlers like me!

train and transport play

It is a magical valley where all time stops

A place of peace

A place to enjoy as a family

A place to ride trains

Sail boats

PADDLE POND

Dig in the sand

DIGGING

Drive tractors

Swingabout, seesaw and slide

OUTDOOR PLAY

A place to picnic

A place to slow down

A place with families at it’s heart

seesaw

A place I am already looking forward to returning to again

A place that will always make me think of Tilda

Though she has never been

train and transport play

A place of smiles

Of birdsong and laughter

A place of diesel and of steam

eric

A place for cake and for ice cream

A place of innocence

A place for play

CASTLES AND BELLS

A valley of warmth and sunshine

Even on the cloudiest days

A place to return to

A place to discover

Rediscover

Return to over and over again

smiles in the valley

Lappa Valley

The vintage valley

The land of trains and boats and swingabouts

  1. We loved Lappa Valley just as you do until long after our children should really have outgrown it. It is always top of my recommendations of places to visit from Coombe Mill with under 8’s.

  2. What gorgeous photographs – you look radiant Jennie. We’ll definitely be visiting Lappa Valley this weekend – can’t wait. Looks like you’ve had lovely weather too, but whatever the weather Coombe Mill and Lappa Valley look like such fun you won’t be able to dampen my enthusiasm! x
