When Bea was first born we used the mat as a space where Esther and William could bond with their new sister

It was Bea’s space that they came into and had to be gentle

We also used the mat to put other baby things on

Such as the PoddlePod

It stopped coldness coming up through the floor

And gave an extra layer of softness

I also used the mat for lying down to feed Bea

This was great at times when she was unsettled

But we did not want to go upstairs to bed

We used the mat for play times and bonding

For tummy time exercises and for exercises we used to help straighten Bea’s early torticollis

We have used the CosyPlay mat every single day that we have been at home

Since Bea was very first born

Now Bea is 5 months

She is sitting up, rolling all over the place and starting to crawl

At the moment she can only crawl backwards

Which she finds incredibly frustrating

At 3 months Bea started to roll

We would put her down on the CosyPlay mat on her back

And then surround her with interesting toys

And people

That she would have to stretch and roll to reach

We chose soft toys with interesting patterns and bright colours

She has always been an active, wriggly, baby

And is now very keen to be on the move

She has mastered rolling front to back and back to front

She is a strong and determined little girl

I think she will achieve anything that she sets her mind too

It was funny watching her try over and over again

To roll

And wonderful to see her own pride and delight

When finally she did

The CosyPlay Mat has been central to Bea’s development

It is where she learns through interaction and play

It is where she first raised her head

First rolled over

First sat up

First tried to crawl
