First Thoughts From The Forest

Wisha Wisha Wisha
The trees are speaking
We wrap our arms around their trunks
And listen to their secrets

The wind whirls through the forest
The trees sway in time
In unison like an army
Like soldiers guarding the treasures within

The sun shines through the tree tops
Dappled starlight falls from the sky
The clouds skim the canopy
Leaves on the wind dance by

Plip Plop Splash Splosh
Rain is falling from the clouds above
Each drop bouncing from leaf to leaf
Before puddling on the forest floor

The wind is racing through the forest
The trees bow to her speed and strength
Rocking together this way and that way
Like wallflowers round the edges of a vintage dance

The forest seems striped like a tiger
Row after row of Spruce, Oak and Pine
Towering Beeches
New saplings springing
As the forest ages and grows

Footsteps crunch through the leaf litter
Tiny creatures scuttle and scurry
Though they have all the time in the world
They are always in a hurry

The colours change in the forest
As each day marches on
The shadows grow longer, darker, scarier?
The wind blows on and on

It is peaceful in the forest
Noises of nature are all around
It is wonderful to sit and listen
To the beauty of each sound

The scene is always changing
Each glimpse and glance gives a different view
No one will look at this forest
In exactly the same way as you

There is something magical about the forest
Majestic trees make this enchanted wood
There are treasures and secrets among the trees
Stories untold, legends unheard, mysteries misunderstood

We have loved our time in the forest
In our cabin in the wood
Memories that will last a lifetime
From among the trees of Robin Hood

We have been given a free short break at Forest Holidays in return for an honest review
