It is not every day that you get invited to attend a film premiere

Last Sunday Mattel made one little boy’s dreams come true

By inviting him and his twin sister to their very first

Film premiere

And not just any old film

But a Thomas film

A film about trains and friendship and races

A film about finding the fastest, the brightest, the strongest

The bravest, the kindest

A film that showed you the most important thing you can do

Is be true to you

While being kind and fair to others

For my little boy

Who spends many hours

Of every day

Racing trains

Battling engines

In his very own tournaments

There could not have been a more perfect premiere to attend

Together with Esther

William and I went to London

To meet The Fat Controller

And sob through a film

With so many positive messages about friendship

Self belief and self esteem

William lived every moment of that film

Alongside his favourite engines

Old and new

He was screaming and urging

Coaxing and coaching

Narrating and questioning

He could not have enjoyed the whole experience more

Esther had a wonderful time too

She loved the beautiful new decorated engines in the movie

And she soaked up the atmosphere of the whole event

Esther and William both loved Rusty and Dusty

They made us all laugh so much

The Great Race

Was brilliant

Cleverly timed for the Olympics

With engines coming together to compete

From all over the world

Lots of positive messages about teamwork

And about being the best you you can be

It really was a good story line

And the soundtrack is brilliant

We were singing the songs

Long after the final credits had rolled

I think we might go and see it again this half term

If you have a Thomas fan of your own

I definitely recommend that you take them too

Especially when a real steam train pulled into the theatre
