Christmas is over for another year

And now we are all in the bemused state of Twixmas

Unsure of the etiquette of these few days

That lead us from one year into another

From 2016 to 2017

And before the new year dawns

You may have a party to attend

Some celebrations to share

We are at home for new year this year

But we are holding a small gathering

For our friends and family

Something we have not done since the year 2012

When our beautiful Matilda Mae was with us

So this year as we feel strong enough

To see in the new year with other people once again

We will do so in starlight

In Baby Tilda’s honour

As the new year dawns

It is time for all of us to sparkle and shine

In our hearts

And perhaps in what we are wearing

Whatever you are doing this new year
