The holidays are here
And across the UK
Families are feasting
I love this time of year
The weather is warmer
The sun is shining
Flowers are blooming
Baby animals are being born
And families come together to celebrate Easter
Which alongside the Christian celebrations
Also means lots of family fun
And an abundance of chocolate eggs
For us it also means
Special time with my sister, my brother in law and their children
It has become a bit of a tradition to have this time together
And I so look forward to it every year
The children love Aunty Julie and Uncle Hugh
Because they play with them
Make pancakes for breakfast
And organise ball games in the garden
This year my Aunty and Uncle are joining us as well
For food, crafts and fun
And Tesco have helped us start to get ready
With their fabulous range of Easter treats
And craft materials
This week we have had a practice run

We have also been decorating gingerbread eggs
And Bea made some super cute bunny glasses
The biscuit kit was very simple
And we added to ours with extra sweets
The bunny mask kit was really easy to use
But there is no glue included
So if you buy one make sure you have some PVA glue at home
Working together to ice and decorate their egg
Adding sweets and sprinkles is great for developing fine motor skills

This weekend we will be shopping with Tesco
Ready for the long weekend
We will have a fish supper on Good Friday
Ham and potatoes on Saturday
And Toad in the Hole on Sunday
We will also be eating this delicious Italian Colomba Cake

And making nests with fruit, meringues and ice cream
I am so excited!
The children are going to make bonnets
And do a mini Easter bonnet parade
We are also going to recreate the egg hunt
At least once!
And set up some sensory small world play
