Edspire and The Seven Year Itch

Today my blog is seven years old

This blog was born just weeks after our twins

When I decided to digitalise my journal

Of our stay in NICU and SCBU

first-familyphoto

I wish with all my heart

That I had kept and published

My IVF diaries

And a record of my short lived twin pregnancy

twins at 13 weeks and 5 days

My memory is not great

So my blog is very important to me

As it keeps memories and moments alive

The most grateful I have ever felt for my blog

Is when Tilda died

Writing Edspire helps to keep our memories of Matilda Mae alive

For the last four and a half years

This blog

And my readers

Have helped to keep me alive

Thank you x

family present

Born shortly after Esther and William

Edspire is the story of our life

Edspire is the story of our family

This is where I have my say

This is where I think out loud

This is my space

My voice

A place for proud moments

Excited announcements

Saddest news

And cries for help

This is my place

This is my space

This is me

I feel like I have lost my way with blogging recently

Trying to follow the lead of bloggers bigger, better and younger than me

Trying to vlog

Trying to earn money

Trying everything and succeeding at nothing

I have lost my way

Become disheartened

Unmotivated

I have been focusing on blogging for bloggers

Not blogging for me

I think me and this blog have been experiencing our

Seven year itch

(It is totally a thing)

And so I am taking some time for reflection

I am going to take Edspire back to its roots

Back to its best

Bursting with love

Written from the heart

With uncensored honesty

Baby Tilda

Edspire is the story of our life

Edspire is the story of our family

This is where I have my say

This is where I think out loud

This is my space

My voice

A place for proud moments

Excited announcements

Saddest news

And cries for help

This is my place

This is my space

This is me

  1. Don’t try and be others. Try and be you. Don’t worry about product reviews or sponsored posts. Just make it your diary for you and all we fans will follow. And vlogging may be the current thing but I can’t watch a vlog on the bus to work. I always forget my headphones! But I can read a blog and that is how I spend my commuting time each and every day. Reading.

  2. Happy birthday to your blog. 7 years is amazing! I have been blogging nearly 5 years and it is so easy to get caught up in what all these “better and younger” bloggers are doing….I feel so old (nearly 40) compared to all these young guns. hehehe Yes! Go back to your roots don’t try and follow others….I have always loved your blog. Be you! xx

  3. Absolutely beautiful. I know what you mean about blogging for bloggers and what we ‘should’ do. I’m only new but already started to lose my way. Congratulations on 7 years, a fantastic achievement. Just keep blogging for you 🙂 and thank you for linking up to #Blogstravaganza
