Seasonal Sensory Play: Autumn

I love autumn

It is my favourite time of year

Though the temperatures start to fall

There is still warmth in the sun

The nights draw in

The morning ground glistens with dew

There is treasure to be found

In the form of blackberries

Conkers and acorns

It is a season of celebration in our house

Wedding anniversary

Birthdays

And a second birthday (due date)

For our July born twins

We love Halloween

Love Bonfire Night

We learn about Diwali too

There is Harvest to enjoy

And a feeling of new beginnings

In terms of jobs and school

It is also a time for hot chocolate

Hot dogs

And toasting marshmallows on a fire

It is time for puddle jumping

Leaf pile kicking

Conker collecting

Nature walks

And scavenger hunts

Autumn is a season of change

It is a season rich in fruits and colour

It is a season made for recreating

Inspiring sensory and small world play

Here are some of our seasonal sensory ways to play

Inspired by autumn

We will be sharing some more ways to play this season for babies and children aged 0 – 7

We have started our autumn collection of acorns and conkers

And we will be thinking of ways to safely include Edie in our play

Without her eating everything!

There is lots of inspiration for autumn play and crafts on my Pinterest board
