Easter Activity: Feed The Birds

Throughout the Easter holidays we are trying to do at least one simple craft activity a day

This one took just 10 minutes from start to finish

We all enjoyed it before breakfast

And now our trees look very pretty

With our Easter eggs for birds

And the visiting birds are pretty too

When Esther and William woke in the morning

We all came downstairs

And I put out some long spring coloured pipe cleaners from Baker Ross

And a packet of Kelloggs Fruit Loops

I showed Esther and William how to take a pipe cleaner

Make a loop at the end

And then thread the fruit loops on to the stick

I talked to them about matching colours

Making patterns and repeating patterns

threading

To start with we each did one colour

And then they followed my patterns

It was a lovely way to start the day

Great for the development of fine motor skills too

Once we had lots of pipe cleaners laden with Fruit Loops

I showed Esther and William how to make them in to egg shapes

Easter eggs for birds!

We then took our rainbow eggs

Out into the garden

And we hung them in Tilda’s apple tree

The blossoming apple tree

That shaded Tilda through her only summer

It will forever be Tilda’s tree

And it is lovely to fill it with colour for her

And the birds

This Easter

  1. Brilliant and so lovely, I have just shown Amelia and she is keen to do this tomorrow, so I am off to shops first thing. Your ideas always inspire me, and we have done quite a few of them.
