One Step Closer to the Door!

ShowOff Showcase

This post is not one of my best but is one of my most significant in terms of baby milestones with Esther and William. It is also special today.

Today I am 35 weeks pregnant with Matilda Bump. The day this post was written, Esther and William were 35 weeks gestation but they were also almost 8 weeks old.

This is the day we moved into Nursery 3 the last room in SCBU before rooming in and finally home.

It is so incredible to think that our third little squidger is probably already bigger and heavier than Esther and William were at this time but she is still tucked up safely inside.

Esther and William were beginning to breastfeed at this time, establishing a routine, wearing clothes and everyday becoming more and more their own little person.

What a difference a pregnancy makes!

We have moved!  We are in Nursery 3!

David and I arrived just in time to help with the move.  This room has a nice, relaxed feel to it.  This is the room where people are getting ready for home and we are one step closer to the door!

David stayed for a while to help us get settled and he did Esther’s cares.  Both babies have gained weight again, 10 grams for Esther and 20 grams for young Will.  They now weigh 1710g and 1990g respectively, 3lb 12oz and 4lb 5oz appx.

Both babies have had good feeds this morning with full top ups after their first feed and reduced top ups after the second.  They are doing so well.  Esther is still a bit chilly sometimes but our cot is underneath the air conditioning vent again, the same as it was in Nursery 2.  Soon we will be moving over to the corner slot though where it is warmer and we will have more room.

William and Esther will sleep through their 2.30 and 3.30 feeds (hopefully) and then try again at 5.30 and 6.30.  This gives me time for lunch and expressing, but more importantly allows them to sleep and grow.

Time for lunch!

  1. Awwww what a gorgeous post and those photos are so precious. It is amazing to think that nowadays babies can be born so ahead of their due date and survive. Thank goodness for the wonderful SCBU teams up and down ths country. And your third baby is almost here too – how exciting xx

  2. The journey that your two precious bundles went on never fails to amaze me and make me tearful. They are such courageous and brave individuals.
