2011

And so 2011 has begun!

This is a very special year for me as in the next 12 months I will see my younger sister get married, get married myself and celebrate Esther and William’s first birthday.

I am feeling a bit sad about their birthday as they do not have any little friends as we have been under self imposed isolation since they came home from hospital.  We have been to no clubs or classes and so the only friends they have in the world are each other and to be honest I am not sure that they even have that as they do not seem to be at all aware of one another!

Their birthday will coincide with our annual Henley family holiday however so they can celebrate with Granny and Grandad, Uncles and Aunties and Cousins which will be enough for this year.  The celebration will really be for us that we have made it through a whole year of parenting, can’t believe we are already almost 6 months through!

And less than two months after the first celebration comes the second, our wedding.  I am busy planning this already and think I have found our theme!!  The wedding was all planned for last summer and so many elements will remain the same – afternoon tea, barn dance being the main stay of the day but some of the finer detail is being retuned and twisted and tweaked, actually with very pleasing results.  I am so looking forward to our wedding day but even more so I am looking forward to being David’s wife and having the same name as him and our son and daughter.

A Henley I will be.  Hurrah!!

David and I have been together for four years this year and our anniversary will coincide with our first family holiday.  We are taking our children to Northumbria for a week of beaches, castles and wild swimming! We are also going to visit Hogwarts which I am very excited about especially as David has finally agreed to read Harry Potter for the first time!  I am going to re read the whole series this year before we see the castle and before I see the final films!

On a personal note this year I plan to lose some weight.  I am the heaviest I have ever been which I know is understandable because I have been pregnant with twins and had my stomach muscles sliced through but it does not mean that I have to stay this way.  I would like to get down to under 9 stone for our wedding, I am currently 10 stone 2!!

My main aim though for this year is to be the best Mum that I can be and give my children the best of everything that I can.  The greatest challenge of all.

Bring it on!
