Mothers’ Day Gift Ideas for a Mummy Growing a Rainbow

mumday5

The one thing a bereaved mother wants most

She cannot have

You cannot give her back her baby

Even when she is busy growing a new baby

Part of her heart will be in heaven

With the baby who has died

021

It is not an easy journey

And Mothers’ Day will be a complicated day

Of contradictory emotions

She will need to know she is valued as a mother

As mummy to her living children

Mummy to her angel

And mummy to her child or children to be

Buying gifts for Mothers Day

For a Rainbow Mummy to be

Is not going to be easy to do

But you must do it

Do not let her think you have forgotten

What a wonderful mummy she is

Is trying to be

To all of her children

growing rainbow

Here are a few things that would make Mothers Day a little easier for me this year

Things I would be grateful to receive

Perhaps these ideas might help a mummy special to you x

Baby Star Stamp
One of the hardest things I do without Tilda is celebrate other people’s special occasions and milestones. Every birth, birthday, party, gathering is a stab in the heart because she is missing. Because she so obviously should be there especially among our family. Along with the actual gatherings comes the writing of cards, birthdays being the worst and wondering whether or not to include Baby Tilda’s name, especially when it is the birthday of a child. This simple star stamp with an M for Matilda would be a perfect gift and make this job just a little easier for me to do and for others to read. A simple gift that would be well received I am sure.

Bump Shoot
I have never had a bump shoot before. I took regular bump photos with Tilda but it feels wrong this time. Like I should not be celebrating, recording. But if the worst happens and this baby dies too, I know I will regret not having things to look back on. I have a horrible scar on my stomach, it splits my bump in half, I thought that ruled a bump shoot out for me. Now I have done some research and found some photos that I would love to create with my Rainbow Bump to help us bond. I love her now, there is no going back, I should do what I can to enjoy this time and start storing memories to be treasured for always. No matter what. I think a pregnancy shoot would be a lovely gift for any mum to be.

Lily and Me Hamper
This Luxury Mum To Be Hamper is full to bursting with products to make a pregnant lady feel good and to help mummy bond with her baby. I particularly love the choice of Weleda products and the Bola necklace. I can imagine massaging my bump, getting dressed and putting on the Bola chime to soothe bump. I also think that the Bola gives a chime of hope that baby will come and will be soothed by the same sounds soothing her in the womb. This hamper also gives a few things that mummy will need for her hospital bag that she may not feel like shopping for herself. This is a luxury and thoughtful hamper for mummies to be.

Bola Chime Necklace
I love these Pregnancy Bola chime necklaces. Worn by mummy and heard by baby in the womb the Mexican Bola chime can then be used to soothe baby after they are born. Mama Jewels has some beautiful designs including my favourite, Skye.

Spa Day
I love the sound of this Mama Mio Gorgeous Glow Top to Toe. It includes a facial, body wrap and massage all safe for mummy and baby. I think having some time to focus and relax is the best part of this Mothers’ day gift.

Willow Tree Cherish Figurine
This is a beautiful wooden figurine of a pregnant lady holding her bump, cherishing and loving the life inside. A perfect gift, to cherish.

Maternity / Nursing Pyjamas
Sometimes when you are pregnant a PJ Day is just what you need. Sometimes pyjamas prove to be the most comfortable way to spend the day. These pyjamas are some of the best maternity PJs I have found. Buy them for your favourite mummy to be and wrap them up with a voucher for a whole day to relax in them. She will be so pleased.

Fabulous shoes
What lady doesn’t love good shoes? Fun, stylish and most importantly comfortable shoes. Livie and Luca has it all. You will not go far wrong if you choose a pair of these shoes for the special mummy in your life. And if you are not sure which ones to go for these Julep mustard petals would be my best bet.

Angel Wings
A beautiful but not overpowering memorial of an angel baby is a perfect and thoughtful gift

As is anyway of displaying an angel baby’s name, this is one of my favourites from Red Brick Glass, a personalised sun catcher. A perfect way to let mummy know that her baby has not been and never will be forgotten.

  1. Oh how I love those Willow Tree figurines! I’ve added two to my wish list – one of a mother and daughter at around Curly Girl’s age and another of a mother and young son. Just beautiful. I haven’t seen many of these products before Jennie – great maternity round up x
