Today has been a strange day
Time has passed so slowly
Every time I have looked at a clock
Expecting hours to have passed
It has been mere minutes
It was a home day
We got dressed and went over to school
The school has been damaged
By a leaking roof
We posed for photos showing the damage
Hoping to attract some attention
Find some help through the local press
School has been on my mind
We came home
Had a play
Had a snack and watched TV
Bea slept
The twins played
We had lunch
Pancakes
For no other reason than we like them
And we could
Then we went to feed a neighbour’s cat
Before playing with water and bubbles outside
We tidied the playroom
Put on a show
The day just went on and on
All of this and it was still not time for tea
Days usually fly by here
Today just took so long
I was wishing it away
Which I hate myself for
A strange day to wish away
What made the day take so long?
Some days are just like this. Others will fly by. Don’t know what the weather was like down your way, but it has been quite odd up here, not hot or cold, not wet or dry. I have done very little today apart from go to the gym and do a couple of loads of washing. Ridiculous.
I am sure tomorrow will fly, I am pleased that time is standing still a bit for you, it will disappear quickly enough in September!
