Thank You Britax and Pushchair Trader

As you will probably know this week I have had a buggy disaster when I lost one of the wheels from my Easywalker Duo.

It is just typical that this wonderful tandem pushchair has stood steadfast for a whole year and decides to break on the one week that I need it most, to help raise money for a charity very dear to my heart, Bliss.

Esther and William were born at 27 weeks and spent 59 days in NICU and SCBU from July to September 2010. I feel that I owe so much to the charity Bliss whose members supported me thorugh this very testing time and remain online friends to this day.

Bliss Mummies are a very special breed and have helped me through some of my darkest times.

Saturday is my day to give something back to the charity and its members as I walk the Bliss London Buggy Push with Esther and William to raise money to support their work.

It was with a very heavy heart that I reported through my blog about my buggy disaster.

Within what seemed like minutes Jo from Pushchair Trader got in touch through Twitter stating that she had found me a replacement buggy not only for the event but on loan until such time as my own buggy could be fixed. What a star!

And what fabulous service and community spirit from Britax who have kindly loaned me a Britax B Dual for the next few days.

I reported my disaster on Tuesday night and by 9am Thursday morning my B-Dual pushchair was here.

By 9.30am it was all set up and ready to go!

I am so impressed with the ease of assembly of this buggy. 30 minutes from being in the box to being ready to go with both seats. I am not looking forward to taking it apart and packing it back up though as it was so very carefully packaged to avoid damage. I may need some help with that bit!

The B-Dual s very light compared to my Easywalker and is of course much narrower as it is an inline rather than a tandem. I have to admit to never wanting an inline for Esther and William. How do you choose who gets stuck below on the bottom seat? David and I disregarded all pushchairs in this style and I am starting to wonder if we were perhaps too hasty? The B-Dual looks spacious and comfortable for the lower baby. I think Esther and William might quite like to take turns in there, it might be like a little den. It would be great for napping in. The upper seat is actually very high compared to our tandem buggy and so gives the lower seat much more room. There is also a large basket to fill with esentials and goodies which is something that is not an easy feature of our current buggy. With the Easywalker once the babies are reclined it is not easy to access the basket where the B-Dual has zips at the front, back and sides so access is always simple.

The B-Dual is much lighter than our current pushcahir and I think that I will miss the bulk of the Easywalker. It always feels so safe and sturdy. On the other hand the B-Dual will allow me to access a whole range of shops, cafes and modes of transport that are off limits with the width of the Easywalker. It might excitingly mean I can take the babies on a bus which I have not been able to do up until now.

While the Britax model would make a great city pushchair for me to get out and about with Esther and William on my own, the B-Dual would not suit our family lifestyle as it is not suitable for all terrains and we like to go out walking a lot, running a little, whatever the weather or landscape.

I am very excited by the loan of this Britax pushchair and I am looking forward to putting it through its paces with the twins and seeing what it can do. I will be very intrigued to see what Esther and William make of it when we go out for our test drive tomorrow.

Thank you Britax and Pushchair Trader for this wonderful opportunity and for making our participation the Buggy Push possible. We will do you and Bliss proud!

If you would like to sponsorme for the Bliss Buggy Push you can do so here

Thank you x
