Our Routine at 13 months

Esther and William are now 13 months old and I think that we are finally all beginning to understand one another and have settled into a routine that works. Works well enough for me to trust others to do it and for David and I to have some time for ourselves.

I do wonder though, how does our day compare to yours? Are we about right for 13 months old babies? I would love to know.

Here is a day in the life of the Edspire household.

6.00am Up, milk and play in the lounge while Mummy or Daddy prepares breakfast

7.00am Nappy change and then breakfast

7.45am Play in the lounge and watch Sing and Sign DVD

9.00am Snack, milk and watch In The Night Garden

9.30am Nap

11.00am Milk and snack with stories

11.30am Nappy change, get dressed, play in the lounge

1.00pm Lunch

1.45pm Play in the lounge

2.30pm Show Me Show Me with milk and snack

3.00pm Nap

3.45pm Play in the lounge or out for a walk

4.45pm Tea time

5.45pm Milk and In The Night Garden

6.15pm (at the latest!) Bed until morning

Quite often we go out in the afternoons and Esther and William love to have lunch out.

At home, our lounge is a great safe toy filled place to play but they do get bored so we make sure that we get out once a day. Now that they are sleeping less it is much easier to get out and do stuff. I am looking forward to September when our classes start.

On Mondays we are doing Fun Train, Tuesdays are Baby Signing with Minisigners, Wednesdays will be Gym Babes soon moving on to Tumble Tots, Thursdays we will go swimming with Daddy and on a Friday we will stay home and try to arrange some play dates. I think it is going to be a lovely term. I cannot wait!

At home I try to rotate the toys that we have out and the activities that we do. Here are some pictures of how our play area can change throughout the day. Whatever I imagine an activity to be Esther and William love finding new and innovative ways to use their books and toys. They are very funny little people. I love them dearly and it is an honour to be part of their funny little world.
