Jungle Cuddly(?) Animals: A Toyjeanius Review

When we were sent this toy to review by the lovely Jean at Toyjeanius it confused me for a while. How were the wooden animals that make up this puzzle cuddly? Surely hard wooden animals are anything but cuddly? But, today as I look back through the photos for this review, I get it. I get it!! The jungle animals painted onto the wooden blocks are cuddly toy versions of their jungle counterparts. You see, it is clear now that I know, they are all wearing little nappies, surely no real giraffe or lion would do that? Only a cuddly toy version of a bear would wear a patterned nappy. I understand the name of this simple, practical and versatile toy.

The Djeco Jungle Cuddly Animals Puzzle is a great product available from the Toyjeanius website. It is a simple puzzle for toddlers from 12months plus and can be used to develop hand/eye coordination and the concept of in and out.

Esther and William were immediately drawn to the cute colourful (cuddly?) animals. The wooden giraffe, lion, bear, elephant and crocodile are the perfect size for their little hands to hold. The five jungle animals come in a painted tray where they each fit into their alloted slot allowing babies to practice putting them in and taking them out of the correct place.

Esther and William can only do this as a guided activity. Other guided activities include using the animals to learn animal names and noises, using the animals to act out stories, banging two animals together as a percussion instrument and hiding animals to be found.

I take the animals out and about with us as they do not take up much space and can be used for so many different purposes, including chewing!! Esther and William chew everything at the moment.

The board part of this puzzle is in a safe place and every so often I get it out to practice putting the animals in the right place and taking them out again.

I think the puzzle is perfect for older babies and younger toddlers. It is a very attractive, bright and sturdy toy that can be used in many different ways. Great for taking to restaurants or on a journey.

Our animals are currently hidden in our treasure basket ready for Esther and William to come down and find in the morning. Then when we have music time we might use them to tap out the beat to The Animal Fair.

Costing a very reasonable £12.95 from Toyjeanius these jungle animals are a great purchase for the little people in your life. Esther and William love them, and Nanny enjoyed them too.

Another great product from Djeco and Toyjeanius
