006/365 Sheriff Ed!

My best friend has a wonderful young boy called Ed.

I cannot call him a little boy anymore as he is a growing 11 year old, thriving at grammar school and is the apple of my children’s eye.

Esther and William adore Edward. They love spending time with him and when he is not with us they talk about him all the time.

If I need them to do something or want them to eat something I just tell them that Edward would and quickly they do.

Today we have been sorting through boxes in our house. We moved in July but there is still much unpacking and sorting to be done. I found a box of things from my old classroom, from when I was teaching.

Back in 2008, I think, (Michele?) a young 6 year old boy left a sheriff’s waistcoat in my classroom.

I am not entirely sure why I never gave it back?

I think I was probably always meaning to and forgot??

Anyway, today we found it in the box of old things from school.

I showed William and told him who it belonged to.

He put it on straight after breakfast and got very upset when he had to take it off after tea.

He wore this jacket all day and kept asking me to take photograph’s of him.

He absolutely loves it.

It has quickly become ‘my jacket’, I hope Sheriff Edward does not mind?!

There seems to be a new, younger Sheriff in town.

Walking around with his chest puffed out saying

‘I need to wear my jacket, I think!’

One old jacket from a young boy’s hero has made for a wonderful day.

I will treasure these photos along with our friendship forever.

I am so glad that my children adore Edward as much as I adore his mummy!

Here is the new Sheriff Ed!
