Easter Nests: Sensory Presents

At Christmas Esther, William and particularly Baby Tilda loved the sensory box I made more than any of their presents.

For Easter I have decided to combine the idea of a sensory box with the giving of presents.

When Esther and William wake up in the morning they will come downstairs to discover their Easter Nests.

The nests began with the two big bowls that I bought for the twins earlier in the week.

Into the bowls I have put a range of presents and sensory materials.

At the bottom of the basket their is a colouring/sticker/activity book given to them this Easter by their Godmother. With the book I have put a little mask. A rabbit for William and a butterfly for Esther. Signs of hope, of Spring.

I have included in the basket some flower shaped stacking / interlocking blocks and a set of nesting eggs with a little chick hidden inside. I have also included some colourful, patterned plastic eggs and inside I have hidden some surprises, little Easter bunnies, tiny yellow chicks and foil wrapped chocolate eggs.

In the basket I have given both Esther and William some Thomas stickers (of course!), some fluffy bunny ears to wear while completing an Easter egg hunt. All the things needed for the hunt are hidden in their baskets along with a plastic egg and spoon race set with squidgy eggs inside the plastic cases. We are going to have so much fun tomorrow, dressed up as bunnies doing the egg and spoon!

We will also of course be blowing bubbles for Baby Tilda tomorrow, special bunny bubbles!

In the basket I have hidden some brightly coloured bath ducks too.

Everything inside the basket is covered with purple shredded paper to create the feel of a nest and nestling on the paper are a super soft cuddly lamb and a little fabric hen.

I am really pleased with the nests and I hope that Esther and William will be too.

I hope that they will give them some happiness this Easter.

Something a little different.

And when they have had enough of exploring their nests, well, then I have this set up and ready to go!

Happy Easter everyone.

Happy Easter Baby Tilda in the sky x
