Baking with Miffy: A Review

Esther and William love Miffy.

The simplicity of the books means they can memorise the words and enjoy the stories independently.

Miffy At School is one that we read a lot and especially at the end of school holidays before the return to preschool. It reminds them of the sorts of things they might do.

When not at school we love making and doing and playing at home.

We are starting to get a little braver with our ventures into baking and so were very pleased to be sent a Miffy Baking Set to review.

The set is very sweet and would make a lovely gift for any little girl or Miffy fan.

In the pretty Miffy tin you will find a pretty Miffy apron, shaped cutters including Miffy and stars, a rolling pin, whisk, wooden spoon and paper cake cases.

We found the paper cases too small and flimsy to use but the rest of the set is lovely.

We decided to make vanilla cookies from an Asda ready mix pack. I said we were getting braver with baking, we still have a long way to go!

We worked together to make the mixture and roll it out. The rolling pin was good and the cookie cutters worked well. Esther and William also both enjoyed making patterns in their dough with the whisk. My children see every activity as an opportunity for messy play!

Once the cookies had cooked and cooled we iced them and decorated them with sugary sprinkles.

We then transferred them to the Miffy tin to serve to Daddy after tea.

The cookies were alright but I think I need to venture away from ready mix packs and start to try real baking. Especially with Esther. She absolutely loves it. And they both love eating the goodies that we make.

The Miffy biscuits in the Miffy presentation tin were enjoyed by all.

The baking set costs £19 and can be bought from the Miffy Shop.

We were sent one Miffy Baking Set for the purpose of this review.

  1. Looks like fun. I was a disaster area in the baking department until monkey came along and I decided to change my ways. I can really recommend The Hummingbird Bakery books, if you want to get the children making muffins, savoury and sweet 🙂

  2. This is really cute. I want to get S an apron and utensils of his own. He loves joining in with my baking.

If you fancy, when I come for a play date in the new year, I can bring everything we need to make some muffins or something. Or you can come to ours and William can have a go on S’s trains 🙂 xx
