Snow Train: Cotton Wool Crafting

Back in November we made some fluffy, sparkly snowmen for the Bump PR Christmas card

Esther and William each made a snowman with felt and cotton wall balls, and lots and lots of glitter

The snowmen were adorned in pinks and purples and each one had an M on their hat

That baby girl gets everywhere x

Esther and William loved making the snowmen, so much so that it is an activity we are going to repeat this week.

I prepared the shapes they would need for their snowmen.

A large circle for the body and a smaller circle for the head. I cut them each out a hat.

We added googly eyes and pom pom buttons, they also had pom poms for noses.

We used pipe cleaners for arms and I put out the glue and other bits and pieces for them to use to embellish their designs.

They loved creating their pictures and adored playing with the cotton wall balls

And as all children do adding all the glitter!

It was simple to set up and easy to do and Esther and William extended it with engines, as they always do.

The snow soon turned into steam and my Uncle was set the task of making felt trains with funnels for the steam to be coming out of.

William made Rosie

While Esther made Stephen

And it was not long before their actual wooden engines entered the scene

Then they both added lots and lots of snowy steam

With no concept really that their picture should be confined to the page

We had snow and steam everywhere

Esther and William had a wonderful time

And it was magical to watch them

Get lost in their imaginary worlds of cotton wool snow and steam

We were busy dreaming of a white, snowed in Christmas

To remind us of the cold snowy winter that we lost Matilda Mae

We are waiting still!

Choo Choo!
