William is starting to get jokes

Both Esther and William love word play

They both have a great sense of humour

But William is the first to make a funny

And want to share it

Today we got out the Duplo

William, obviously, made a train

He used a candle for a funnel

A funny funnel

He called the train Sir Candle

And laughed

He was thinking of Sir Handel

The narrow gauge engine from Thomas

But made a joke

Told a funny

By adapting Handel to Candle

He really was very pleased with himself

And went off to tell his joke to his Daddy

I invited both Esther and William to play with Duplo today

We have not had it out in a while

This is what I set out

William built a train and Esther did this …

We also played with Stickle Bricks today, now called Thistle Blocks but rather lovely all the same.

William worked really hard to build a lorry. He loves making things that go at the moment, while Esther given the same materials would choose to make something pretty.

It is a fascinating miracle raising boy / girl twins.

Every day I love them more and more.
