Beebies Baby Store and the Barn Dance: A Guest Post

You may not know this, but Matilda Mae and Jennie, were the first people to ever test and review a Beebies product. A pink one tier nappy cake, made especially for Baby Tilda back when Beebies was just a baby itself.

Before Edspire, I had never come across a blog before. And what a discovery. A blog with the intention to inspire and educate its readers. Jennies blog taught me so much about the market I was just about to enter into at the age of 17. Her & her family’s journey to where they were today was truly inspiring. How amazing that her tiny premmie twins were proud big brother & big sister to a beautiful brown eyed baby, and together they were helping Beebies make those first baby steps into a community I knew little about.

When I read, 6 months later, that Matilda had died it was as though for that moment time had stood still, the world seemed incomprehendable. How could that beautiful baby just be gone? Ripped from the heart of her family? I, like so many more, have cried for her family and for the shortness of her little life more times than I can count.

‘This sort of thing does not happen to people you know.’

The reaction to Matilda’s story, the love and which spread through the blogging community warmed my heart. After trying and failing for days, weeks, months maybe to put together a sentence which might have offered some comfort, I decided words would never be enough and so when Jennie announced she was organising a fundraiser in Matilda’s memory and to raise money for the Lullaby Trust, I knew this would be the perfect way to give something back and to thank them both for putting Beebies on the map. I was determined to help build Matilda Mae’s legacy.

In the lead up to the Welly Walk, Jennie & I spent many an evening cutting and laminating tickets, planning games and prizes and as her family welcomed me in each time with open arms, it’s safe to say we began to form a long lasting friendship. The walk itself was a great success, raising money and awareness for The Lullaby Trust.

In February, I attended the Matilda Mae Remembers Service and we kitted out the crèche with a range of toys to suit all.

So here we are, just three weeks away from the Baby Tilda Barn Dance! I am honoured that Jennie has chosen Beebies Baby Store as the Co-Host. Together we have worked tirelessly to ensure that every single element of the barn dance is the perfect tribute to Matilda’s little life and a fantastic, family event for our every single one of our guests.

Naturally, my main focus had to be planning a fun-filled play experience for our smallest guests. An opportunity to come along and try out some of our wonderful toys.

When Jennie mentioned there would be High Tea for the adults I knew just the thing to include in our Marquee of play! A Fabric Fancies Afternoon Tea Party!

And of course, as many of you know, the Baby Tilda Barn Dance was originally planned when Matilda Mae was still here. A birthday Barn Dance for a Birthday Baby, and so in the spirit of things, and as we are in the month of Mae our Bunting Birthday Cake {http://www.beebiesbabystore.com/#!product/prd1/1526681065/fabric-fancies-large-bunting-cake} will be in pride of place in the centre of the table.

It’s important to me to find unique items which cater for the need of parents. I’d been asked by a twitter follower if Beebies stocked any wooden or fabric food and so off in search I went!

Each Fabric Fancies item is made handmade to order to an amazingly high standard and with incredible detail. They can also be personalised with a message of your choice!

Due to small parts some of the items are not suitable for children under 3 years.

You will be able to order all of the above items as well as one of these very special limited edition Matilda Mae Cupcakes on the day.

We can’t wait to see you there! Teddies, Dollies and Trains welcome.
