Half Term: Time to Learn

nature teacher

“Every child should have mud pies, grasshoppers, water bugs, tadpoles, frogs, mud turtles, elderberries, wild strawberries, acorns, chestnuts, trees to climb. Brooks to wade, water lilies, woodchucks, bats, bees, butterflies, various animals to pet, hay fields, pine-cones, rocks to roll, sand, snakes, huckleberries and hornets; and any child who has been deprived of these has been deprived of the best part of education.”

  1. Thank you, I need a kick up the backside to get out with the kids when it has been cold and miserable outside. Our half term has just landed too and I need to get the kids away from technology for some much need fresh air and some exploring. Time to plan where we can head out to for some fun. Have a lovely half term xx

  2. We are an outdoors type of family so I agree it is so important to get out into the wilds of nature (or the managed wilds really I guess these days), tree climbing, puddle jumping nature watching are all things we encourage. Mud washes off good memories last a life time and it is a big world out there, go explore.
