What A Difference A Day Makes

Thank you to everyone who has been following our journey

I just wanted you all to know that we are now in Spain

Our airport experience could not have been more different

We sailed through security

No alarms

No scans

No searches

And I am so pleased and relieved

William could not believe that we were through

He kept asking

When do we have to see the blue man?

When will I have to stand in that box?

When will we go through security?

Will I have to be searched in Spain?

He simply could not believe that we were through

Without any of the trauma of the day before

We arrived at our gate in plenty of time

And of course we boarded late!

We boarded around the time

We got to the gate the previous day

I think that they call it Sod’s Law

(not a phrase I often use!)

Once on the plane

The Easy Jet staff were unable to seat me with my children

The plane was full and there was not much they could do

A very kind couple agreed to move so that I could at least be with Bea

Esther and William sat separate from me

And from each other

But they coped wonderfully

I was immensely proud of them

And so thankful to the kind hearted people around us

Who helped the children when they dropped things

Or when they were trying to get things out of their bag

I am also so thankful to the people who took the time

To tell me how well behaved my children were

And they were

They were awesome

Once safely landed in Alicante

And reunited with our bags

We ran out to find Grandpa

And everything that had we had been through

Was made okay

And now we have ten days of sun, sand, sea and swimming pools

With Nanny and Grandpa

Before taking to the skies again

Would I fly solo with my children again?

Absolutely!

Because they are amazing

And we as a family can cope with anything

And we love an adventure!

Would I fly with East Jet again?

Yes

Because as I stated in my original post

It was not Easy Jet’s fault that we missed our flight

It was a series of unfortunate events

And these things happen

Today every one from Easy Jet I dealt with

Was friendly and keen to help

Happy faces at the airport today #gatwick

What a difference a day makes!

I do hope that in the future Easy Jet will make it possible for families to reserve seats together for free. I understand paying for extra leg room or a seat by the window, but parents should not have to pay to sit next to their children.

    • We totally agree when you book you should get seats together without paying extra. Especially when it involves children. When you book you state the ages of the children so they know. It seems all they want is extra money regardless of the circumstances. I have had many flights for business with easy jet and generally y it has been OK. I found the cabin crew particularly helpful and polite. I have though had a couple of very bad experiences which I wrote to east jet about. I voiced my disappointment and concerns. This was in march. To this day I have not had a response to my letter. Hey ho they have got my money so what. I am glad you have had a better trip and hope you and your children enjoy your holiday
