Dear Father Christmas: If I Could I Would …

Dear Father Christmas

Tonight I am going to show my friends and family

How much I love them

By showing them what I would buy them

If I could

As it is I have no money

So can only let people know this

That I love them

With all my heart

That I am grateful

For all they do

And if I could

I really and truly most definitely would

First for my best friend

Always on my mind

Though we do not always see each other

As much as we would like

I would love to buy you this necklace

A token of my love

And so you know that I am always thinking of you

Wishing you peace and strength

Wishing that I could do more

This beautiful necklace

Is a Strength Necklace

It comes with love from me

And Matilda Mae

uncommon-2

Don’t lose hope when the sun goes down

The stars come out

Next for my husband

A personalised whiskey barrel

He deserves a barrel of whiskey

After all the work he has done

Renovating our house

Making it into a space

Ready for us to make it our home

It has been a long and gruelling year

This year

Living half of it in a temporary house

David has worked so hard

Kept his business going too

Sometimes I think he is super human

He is definitely my super hero

And I am looking forward to a time in the future

When we can sit and drink together

And look back on all that we have done

All that he has done

And I never tell him enough how much I love him

How much I appreciate him and all he does

I want him to sit and hold my hand

Drinking whiskey by the fire

Knowing that we have made it through

And together we will keep on keeping on

Because we love each other

And that is what families do

My next choice is for Granny

Where would we be without Granny?

She helps us so much in so many ways

She looks after Baby Tilda’s garden

She looks after Bea so I can have time with Esther and William

She steps up and steps in

Whenever she is needed

Without comment or complaint

I know that I am very lucky

To have such an incredibly lovely mother in law

And my children are blessed to have the most awesome Granny

William had such a lovely time with Granny on Monday

He just could not stop jumping!

Whenever I think of Granny

I think of calm and peace

I think of words and literature

I think of family

I think of the mother that I would like to be

So for Granny

If I could

I would buy these globes

Glass tree globes representing

Motherhood

Family

Friendship

uncommon-4

For my own mother

Who I do not see enough

Who we all love dearly

And miss very much

Who we all would love to cuddle more than we do

A way to show our love across the seas

This Under the Same Moon Pendant

So special

Such powerful words

I know she would love it

Even if she did not wear it all the time

I know that she would treasure it

uncommon-5

For my beautiful sister

A simple acknowledgement of what we are

Each other’s past and present and future

We have always been there

Not physically next to each other

But in each other’s lives

And so we will always be

uncommon-6

We all live in a fleeting, invisible moment called “the present.”

Not only is now the time for us to take action,

It also serves as a link between our warm, fading memories of the past

And the shining hope of the future.

For three friends never forgotten

Melissa

In memory of Harrison

And celebration of your beautiful rainbows

uncommon-7

Susanne

In awe of your strength

Your ability to do good

And your beautiful, powerful writing

uncommon-8

Laura

I am so thankful for your constant friendship

In spite of me being rubbish

I so hope to see you soon

Remembering our university times

A shared love of books and dogs
