Paradise Wildlife Park #presstrip

Last month we were invited to visit and review Paradise Wildlife Park

If you follow me on social media you will already know how much we loved the park

Situated in Broxbourne Woods in Hertfordshire

It is a 90 minute drive from our home in Kent

The wildlife park has plenty of parking and the parking is free

We knew of Paradise Wildlife Park before our visit

As it is the partner zoo of The Big Cat Sanctuary

Where we have been lucky enough to attend a series of educational workshops this summer

We were really excited to visit the wildlife park

And in particular to see the big cats

When we arrived at the wildlife park

The children needed to let off some steam

We found a series of quirky and unusual play areas

A fire engine to climb on

An old wooden caravan to slide out of

The children got stuck straight in to their active and imaginative play

We then found an amazing rainbow slide

That the children used over and over again

After lots of sliding and a whole heap of laughter and smiles

We were ready to explore more and meet the animals

We started with the lionesses

They were enjoying the sunshine on their very own Pride Rock

The children loved watching these beautiful felines

I loved watching them watching the big cats

We were very lucky that the cats were active

We sat and watched them in their new home at the wildlife park

We were also able to walk up on to a high viewing platform

To get a better view of the majestic big cats

After the lions we saw the zebra

Bea’s favourite animals at the zoo

We also saw the camels having a shower

It was a very hot day

We then walked through the Australian enclosure

Where we met some very friendly emus

And learned more about the species indigenous to Australia

When we left the Outback Walk Through

We met a super cute alpaca

Before stopping for a snack in the shade

It was the hottest day of the year when we visited

And we were very grateful for every spot of shade we found around the park

Paradise Wildlife Park is a small and compact zoo

It has lots of wonderful animals

It has good sized enclosures

The animals are very well cared for

And they are all close together

Making this a manageable day out for the littlest of legs

Even when the temperatures are above 30 degrees

Having said that

We did very much enjoy a break from the wildlife

To have a splash in the pool

A secret lagoon with a slide

And a shaded seating area

The children loved it

The perfect cool down

An amazing retreat from the heat of the day

Back with the animals

We went into the Amazon Rainforest area

We had hoped to see the sloth

But he was very sleepy

We did see some very cute little monkeys

Which Edie loved

I fell in love at Paradise Wildlife Park

With their two red pandas

They were beautiful

One of them is named Tilly

Which felt like a little sign from Matilda Mae

Red Pandas are the new additions to my favourite animal list

Along with penguins and giraffes

And most recently Koalas!

We watched a man and his son enjoy a Red Panda Experience

And it is now very high on my to do list

To do the same

It looked absolutely amazing

They are such beautiful creatures

Red pandas are endangered in the wild

Due to the fragmentation of its natural habitats

Their low numbers, and their food specialisation needs

One of the wonderful things about Paradise Wildlife Park

Is their conservation projects and breeding programmes

This is a wildlife park that is entertaining but also truly educational

They want to help the world’s wildlife

They want to preserve species

They want us all to learn about endangered species and find out how we

You and me

Our children

Can get involved in saving their habitats, their food supplies

And ultimately them

Seeing the tigers at Paradise Wildlife Park was amazing

They Amur Tigers and a White Tiger

These big cats are endangered

And Paradise Wildlife Park are involved in fundraising projects

To try to save these beautiful cats from extinction

As you walk through Paradise Wildlife Park

You begin to understand the real need for conservation projects and breeding programmes

Esther and William loved reading about the animals, their habitats

And the work being undertaken to try to save some of the world’s most amazing animals

Though the wildlife park is small

You could still easily spend a whole day in the animal section alone

There is so much to see

Different ways to interact with the animals

Tunnels, viewing platforms, feeding opportunities

There is a lot of information to read

And it is just a lovely experience walking round the park

But the animals are not nearly all

There is the splash lagoon

Multiple play areas

A soft play

And the rather splendid World Of Dinosaurs

On entering this area of the park

We visited Dino Daycare

Where we met a very cute baby T-Rex and his handler

The dinosaurs are amazing

Huge animatronic dinosaurs

30 of them

They roar at you

Swing their tails

Move their heads

You walk through a leafy woodland

Discovering new dinosaurs round every turn

We ate our lunch in the woods

With the dinosaurs all around

I thought Edie might have been scared of the dinosaurs

But she was just absolutely fascinated by them

The three older kids were instantly absorbed in their own word of imaginative play

Being dinosaur world explorers

Finding babies in nests

Discovering new species

They had a brilliant time

William is passed his dinosaur obsession these days

But for any truly dino mad kids

This would be an awe inspiring day out

For us it was all about the animals

We came away more in love than ever with our favourites

And more determined than ever to do more to help endangered animals

If you are looking for a day out this summer

Paradise Wildlife Park would be a good bet

A great selection of animals

A splash pool

Unique, quirky, fun play areas

And a whole world of dinosaurs!

Every day there is a timetable of talks and feeds

And throughout the year the park has special days and weekends

Coming up this bank holiday weekend they are having a

Snow Leopard and Jaguar Weekend

And a Summer BBQ Party

It is not a cheap day out

But no wildlife parks are

Day tickets for our family of six would cost around £110

I think that if you can save further money

By taking a picnic and a flask of coffee

If you get to the park for opening

And enjoy all it has to offer for a full day

Know that your money is going some way to protect and preserve the animals

Then Paradise Wildlife Park offers a value for money day out

Perfect for children of all ages

Parents and grandparents

Would you like to spend a day in Paradise?

We were provided with tickets to the park in return for our honest review
