You Can Dukan!

This post is a note to myself

To give myself a kick

To stick to my diet

To lose some weight in time for Christmas

I know that I am running out of time

And running into festive times

Where I am going to be surrounded with festive fayre

But for my own self esteem

I need to at least prove that I can try

In the weeks leading up to our wedding in 2011

David and I very loosely followed the Dukan Diet

And it worked

I lost the last few baby pounds I wanted to lose

And I fell pregnant with Tilda

I loved our wedding day

We were so happy then

my most beautiful

Baby Bea will be four months old on Friday

We are travelling up to Staffordshire to spend special time with my sister

I am really looking forward to it

But I am not very happy with the way I am going to look

Four months post partum

And I am still as heavy as the day Bea was born

I am still wearing maternity clothes

And roomy size 12 tops

Rather than the size 8 that I usually am

I realise that Bea is my fourth baby

And that I am not really that young

I understand that the weight may take some work to shift

A combination of activity and diet

And so I am returning to the Dukan Diet

Because I can

And I am determined to do it

To be strict with myself

To shift some weight

So that I can feel a little better

Inside my own skin

I actually really enjoy the Dukan Diet

Or my very loose version of it

For breakfast I have 0% fat yoghurt with oat bran

For lunch I have lean meat and salad

For dinner lean meat or fish with eggs

Throughout the day I drink sugar free squash and herbal tea

I also snack on wafer thin ham and turkey, more yoghurt and jars of cockles

I weigh 10 stone at the moment

So really have at least a stone to lose

I know I will not lose it all before Christmas

But I want to make a start

I actually really love to eat fish

And always think I should eat more of it

And I am the same with eggs

Poached, scrambled and soft boiled are my favourites

I love hotel breakfasts that have good eggs!

And when I am not on a diet or in a hotel

I forget quite how good eggs are for you

Eggs give you lots of quality protein

With no carbohydrate or fat

When I read about egg white nutrition

And remember all the vitamins and minerals in egg yolk

I always promise myself I will eat more eggs

And get Esther and William to too

And so I am on the Dukan Diet

High protein, low carb

To try and find a me I am happy with

Before the Christmas madness is in full swing

I do just wish I could have soldiers with my boiled eggs though!
