Learning Through Play: Bubbles

Learning with Bubbles

At last we are having some sunny weather and we are making the most of it by playing in the garden.

In the few precious hours that I have with Esther and William when I am not feeding Matilda I try to make the very best of them that I can.

On Sunday Esther and William were each given a bubble gun as a present and so we put them to good use yesterday.

We used the bubbles as the focus of our outdoor play.

Bubble Tunnel

We watched them glisten in the sunlight. We encouraged them to go higher as they drifted and flew toward the sky. We watched their dazzling colours and gasped with awe as they settled on the grass and balanced on daisies.

Bubbles are magical to behold. We tried to catch them. We tried to hold them. We chased them round the garden and balanced them on our hands.

We had a wonderful time.

Happy Bubbles

When Esther and William tired of the bubbles as toddlers tend to do I decided that we would have some water play. I filled our water table with warm soapy water and watched as Esther and William poured and trickled and played in the suds.

Bubble Bath

They loved making their Munchkin Bath Animals swim through the soapy water and they loved pretending that the bubbles were yoghurt and ice cream.

Bubble Swimmers

Esther and William are learning so much at the moment and their vocabulary becomes wider every single day.

This was a wonderful learning opportunity as we played in our garden with the wonder of water and the magic of beautiful bubbles.

Very therapeutic for Mummy too. A lovely way to spend a day.
