Book Review: Every Little Kindness

When one act of kindness sparks another … ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

Every Little Kindness is a stunning wordless picture book. A story that shows us the power of kindness. A story that beautifully illustrates how one small act of kindness can begin a chain of kindnesses. A story that shows us how kindness can bring people together and build a community. A story that shows us how what is one small act of kindness for one person can mean the whole world to another. This is a wonderfully emotive book and it shows how we should never doubt the point, the power of the little things that we do, because one little thing leads to another and another and another. Kindness makes us stronger. It matters to be kind and to bring up our children to know why it is so important to be kind, to people we know and love and to people that we do not. Kindness makes the world a better and more compassionate place to be.

This is such a joy filled book that shows little readers that kindness is contagious and one little thing can brighten a person’s day or change their whole life. As we enter the season of goodwill, the season of giving, this is a wonderful way to show children the power of kindness and to inspire little bookworms to carry out some little acts of kindness of their own.

I love the muted colour palette with pops of red showing the different kind things that characters do throughout the story. I love how the flow of red objects through the pages shows the ripple of kindness and how we are all connected. This is such a clever book and one that warms your heart and leaves you smiling and wanting to get up and do more for others.

A wonderful conversation starter with little readers and perfect for oral storytelling together and asking older children to write or draw their own kindness ripple or chain. Children could draw their own pictures of how they are connected to others in their community. This would be a great advent gift for families who carry out random acts of kindness through December and a special present for anyone embarking on an #adventtoremember this Christmas time.

We will be starting our #adventfortilda on 1st December and I think we may begin by gifting this book to a loved one.

We were sent one copy of the book in exchange for an honest review
