012/365 Forget Me Not

remember

Today has been a difficult day

Saying goodbye

To things that have played such an important part in our life

That we cannot bear to use again

Baby Tilda’s moses basket

Baby Tilda’s beautiful Graco Evo pram

Esther and William’s toddler rockers

Two of our three high chairs

A triple buggy we never had chance to use

So many beautiful blankets

Sleeping bags and swaddling cloths

So many boxes and bags full of clothes

Toys much loved and never used

We said goodbye to our past

But also to a future

A future that can never be

Now our baby is no longer here

Sorting through these many things

Such a bittersweet thing to do

So many happy memories

Such heartache for all that should still be

For a future we will never share

Such a lot of wasted potential

Our beautiful Baby Tilda

When Tilda died I threw many of her things into boxes

Thinking I would not want to keep them

But today as I sorted through

There were many things I had overlooked

That I have now decided to keep

I have a beautiful box of her favourite clothes

That I am going to have made into a blanket

I have kept her starry pram blanket

And there are some clothes that I have kept

In case a rainbow baby ever comes our way

And there are still things in boxes yet to find

The things that we no longer need

The things we cannot bear to keep

Will be delivered to our local Sure Start centre tomorrow

And from there they will be distributed to local families in need

I hope that Matilda Mae will smile down on them

And keep their little ones safe

I hope that Matilda Mae approves of what we are doing

Spreading her legacy a little bit more

Helping families who really need our help

We are not forgetting you Matilda Mae

We cannot, shall not, will not, ever forget

We will remember you

Honour you

And love you

For all of our days x

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Corinthians 4:18
