Looking Back at the Bluebells

On Monday we went to the Rare Breeds

The place where last May

We walked

We walked a mile

A mile in memory

A mile in memory of Matilda Mae

On Monday we went back

Back to the bluebells

The beautiful bluebells

And we retraced our steps

princess

We retraced the mile

The mile in memory

The mile in memory of Matilda Mae

bluebells

When we arrived at the farm

We went to meet the animals in the children’s barn

Esther and William loved getting up close

To piglets and lambs, rabbits, goats and guinea pigs

They loved meeting the baby chicks and ducklings

William saw a lamb and exclaimed

‘Oh Mummy, look, that baby lamb is so cute!’

He and it melted my heart

As I thought of our little lamb

Matilda Mae

I am so glad that we will soon be back at Coombe Mill

meet the animals

After the animals

And thorough handwashing

We went to explore the gardens

And had a play in the sand

Before heading off to swing and slide

In the bright sunshine

Before enjoying our picnic lunch

swings and roundabouts

And then we walked

And it was wonderful

Magical

To feel so close to all of our children

In and out of those dusty bluebells

dusty bluebells

Esther, William

Matilda Mae and Rainbow

Together we walked

We ran

We played

We even climbed!

discovertree

We enjoyed the peacefulness

The tranquility

The magic of the woods

in the woods

We talked of fairies

Of angels

We roamed the land of giants

land of giants

We were together

Between the Earth

And the sky

We were together

me and all my children

This May we will walk again

A mile in memory of Matilda Mae

You can find all the details of this year’s walk here
