Safe Spaces For Parents and Little Ones in Kent

Ever since becoming a mummy to premature twins

And especially since Tilda died

I have suffered with anxiety

There are many things that trigger panic in me

But two major ones are getting out and about on my own with four young children

And driving on my own with the children to new places

This year

This decade

I am trying to conquer those two fears

I am trying to get out and about with the children every day

And I am trying hard to travel to new to us places

In and around Kent

As we visit places around our local area

I build upon my collection of what I call my safe spaces

The places I know that I can go to on my own with my children

And we will be okay

Places with good coffee (SO essential!)

Lots of clean toilets

Indoor and outdoor areas to be

Lots of space to run around

And good parking!

Over on Instagram I have been busy sharing our days out

Sharing our home education and family adventures

Sharing the places I am happy to go to on my own

With four young children

The spaces where we feel safe to just be

I thought I would share our favourites here too

LEEDS CASTLE

Leeds Castle is the perfect place to spend a wet and windy afternoon. With plenty of footpaths there is no need to get muddy unless you choose to. There is lots of space to run around and brilliant spaces for hide and seek. The castle is steeped in history and there are trails to follow and activity books to complete. You can feed the ducks, geese and swans along with the greedy pigeons and seagulls. We saw two cormorants on our last visit too. The birds of prey show is on daily and the staff are so friendly and always answer children’s questions patiently. There are a selection of cafes, lots of toilets spaces out around the site and two brilliant play areas as well as the maze and the new adventure golf. We love @leedscastleuk and go there at least once a week. We always find something new to do. This week it was taking dog selfies in the dog collar museum! We feel very lucky to live so close to such a special place. We have been regular visitors for 10 years and the castle and gardens are filled with memories of all our children including our beautiful Matilda Mae. #leedscastle #leedscastlegardens #leedskent #daysoutkent #daysoutinkent #kentdaysout #daysoutwithkids #daysoutwiththekids #daysoutwiththefamily #daysoutuk #daysoutwithkidsuk #daysoutwithkidskent #familydaysout #letthemexplore #curiouslittleexplorers #myhappyplace #homeedadventures #edspireedventures #edspireedventure

KENT LIFE

On the 4th day of January we spent a wonderful sunny day @kent_life_farm We spent a lot of time feeding the animals, rode the train, went to cuddle corner and enjoyed Mrs Back To Front’s Magic Show. Bea was chosen to be a helper and she loved it! We were there from doors open to gates shut and had a wonderful time exploring the farm. A day for the memory books with Nanny and Grandpa! #edspireedventures #edspireedventure #wildlingwanders #wildlingexplorers #kentlifefarm #kentlife #daysoutkent #daysoutinkent #daysoutinkentwithchildren #daysoutinkentwithkids #kentdaysout #kentkids #kentfamily #daysoutwithkids #daysoutwiththekids #daysoutwiththefamily #kent #maidstone #kentblogger #myhappymoments #myhappycapture #maketheordinaryextraordinary #letthembelittle #letthembewild #wildlingexplorers #wheremywelliestakeme #livingfortilda

BEDGEBURY PINETUM

View this post on Instagram

We started our new year at Bedgebury with my parents and my sister and her family. The children loved racing around in all the open spaces, hiding and seeking among the trees, sheltering in the tree cathedral and of course finding The Gruffalo and all his friends. We have renewed our annual membership @lovebedgebury and look forward to lots of days exploring there over the coming year. You cannot spend too much time running wild in the forest. It is so so so good for the soul! #bedgebury #bedgeburypinetum #letthembelittle #letthembewild #letthembewildandfree #raisingwildlings #mywildlings #wildlingwanders #wildlingadventures #letthemexplore #wildlingexplorers #curiouslittleexplorers #littleexplorers #edspireedventures #edspireedventure #livingfortilda #getoutdoors #redjanuary #redjanuary2020 #newyear #newdecade #newyearsday
