Edie loves a treasure basket

Back in February
I gave Edie a basket of velcro rollers
A basket of treasure indeed!
I then sat back and watched her play
Witnessing for myself the true value
Of a £1 pack of curlers
Edie picked up each pink and black roller in turn
She took each one out of the basket
Examined it
And carefully placed it back in
Edie poked the rollers
Stroked them
Looked at them and through them
Before giving the all important taste test
The spiky texture is incredibly satisfying
For little fingers to touch and feel
And for little toes!
Edie liked rolling the curlers in her hand
She tried rolling them on the floor
But they stuck to the carpet
Edie found this very funny
And even more so as they all started sticking to each other
Velcro rollers are great for stacking
You can create colour patterns
Order by size
And make pictures
As well as stacking
The smaller rollers can nest inside the larger ones
Edie loves to post things
Put things in
And take things out
Curlers can be bashed together
There are so many ways to play
With these simple hair accessories
For babies and beyond
Everyday objects like these
Often offer much better value than toys
